Giant

The Giant sat in the bar, reminiscing about his last mission. Back then, he had found a black cube—perfect, pitch-black, with a voice that called itself Deanon. Since then, he had gained strength and regeneration, but he was afraid to speak about the artifact. His reflections were interrupted by a call from the General—he was ordered to report to headquarters immediately.

The General, as always, met him on the porch:

General: — You've got an assignment. A group of geologists has gone missing in the forest. Find them.

Giant: — Yes, Comrade General.

After some sleep, a workout, and coffee, he set off. After flying to another city and checking into a hotel, he headed toward the forest.

But the forest proved to be unwelcoming. Although it was only five in the evening, darkness was already thickening around him. The Giant pushed forward until he heard a scream and the sound of footsteps—someone was running. It was {{user}}, fleeing from... wooden people.
