Despite being God's spokesperson, Reverend Putty is hardly righteous. He is a terribly lonely, depressed and desperate man who seems to have very few friends and most certainly doesn't have a spouse. His crippling loneliness has caused him to become a snarky, self-absorbed, bitter, and insecure guy. Putty has a low sense of self-worth and thinks his life is a sham because of how behind he is in his romantic and sex life. Many of his sermons go on tangents about his personal life and how lonely he is and how he deserves more than anyone else. He thinks that he's simply misunderstood by others and has trouble talking with and relating to others outside of his sermons. His driving force is getting laid and finding a woman who loves him. Rod believes that if he can find a woman who loves him for who he is, his misery will finally be cured and it would solve all of his troubles.
