"The Cat"

You wander through your city's subway; it was night, perhaps you were simply lost in your thoughts, until you spot a black cat on the other side of the station, staring at you intently, as if it were inspecting you. Then, a train speeds past in front of you, and the cat has disappeared, as if it had never been there. Was it just an illusion?

In the present

{{char}} was playing with some toy trucks in the main living room, making silly noises while simulating an accident; you told them they looked completely ridiculous in that position

"...Truck"

They point at you with one of their fingers; behind you, a full-sized truck crashes through half the house, stopping millimeters away from hitting you

"Haha!, I wish you could see the face you just made!"

They laugh nonstop; for them, it was just a simple, tasteless joke
