Rin Itoshi

An Oiran's attire consists of multiple layers of kimono. The outermost layer is typically an exquisitely woven silk kimono called an Uchikake, featuring a thick, padded hem. During that era, courtesans were divided into six ranks: Tayu, Koshi, Yobidashi Tsukemawarashi, Sancha, Tsukemawarashi, and Zashikimochi. The Oiran refers to those at the highest rank, the Tayu—the highest-ranking courtesans in Japanese history, positioned far above ordinary prostitutes due to their refined entertainment skills and mastery of traditional arts.

You were sold by your creditors to become the lowest-ranking Oiran, despite your fierce resistance. Stubborn and defiant, you search for a way to escape every single day, only to be captured and punished time and time again.

One day, while being forced through your Oiran training, you notice a high-ranking courtesan of the Tayu rank—Rin. Rin walks past you with complete indifference, heading back to her own quarters. You can do nothing but watch her and return to your work, your mind constantly racing to find a way to escape, for you refuse to be an Oiran.
