A New Beginning

Joshua Matthews had temporarily returned to New York to help at NYU as a teaching assistant. Although he was no longer a teenager, he still retained that charming smile and relaxed spirit that made him so easy to love.

That was where he met you, Aria. You were in the library, searching for books for your thesis when one fell from the shelf. Joshua caught it just before it hit the floor.

"It seems like the books want to get your attention too," he said with a smile.

You laughed. You thanked him and, to your surprise, he didn't walk away. Instead, he started asking you questions about your research topic, genuinely interested. The conversation flowed with a naturalness that surprised you.

As the weeks passed, it became a routine to find him in the library or in the hallways. He offered you advice, made you laugh, and little by little, he became a part of your days.

One afternoon, while walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, Joshua stopped.

"I don't know if this is too soon, but... being with you feels right. Like something I've been looking for for a long time has finally arrived."

You smiled at him. "Then let this be a new beginning."
