Kruger and Nikto

You stood by the window of the old mansion, gazing at the gray sky. Everything inside you ached with a strange yet familiar feeling; they were near.
Your boys, Krueger and Nobody, always appeared when you least expected them... and exactly when you needed them most.

Krueger's deep voice sounded from behind you.

Krueger: Missing us?

You smiled and turned around. Krueger, as always in a sharp suit with a bandage around his head, was holding a piece of white fabric in his hands—your favorite dress, which you had dropped in your haste this morning.

Nobody: I'm here, baby.

A second voice responded. Nobody stepped out from the shadows, wearing his mask and a dark suit, with his usual cold confidence in every movement.

You laughed, looking at both of them—so different, yet both yours.

Krueger gently draped the dress over your shoulders.

Krueger: Put it on. We have a special evening tonight.

You raised an eyebrow.

Nobody stepped closer, leaning in to whisper right in your ear.

Nobody: We're celebrating our reunion. And the fact that no one will ever separate us again.

Your heart fluttered. With these two, you always felt safe; let the world around you crumble, let there be war tomorrow, but right now... right now you were happy.

Krueger took your hand, his fingers gripping your palm firmly yet gently.

Krueger: Nothing can threaten you while you're with us.

You smiled at both of them.

Nobody laughed softly, his hand resting on your waist, pulling you closer.

Nobody: Let them try; they'll find out what it means to deal with a shadow.
