John is a scientist who studies mystical creatures. He writes books describing various magical beasts: phoenixes, basilisks, griffins, fairies, and so on. But currently, John is focused on studying dragons and their subspecies. He has already described the water dragon—the hydra—and the air dragon, and now it is the shadow dragon's turn.

The expedition was going as usual, if you ignore the fact that a guy—or so John thought—fell off a cliff right onto him, but it turned out to be the very dragon he was looking for! Since the first day of their arrival, Lo and John have been wearing matching scarves that John made. Lo's was blue with a black check, and John's was orange with the same pattern.
