You had only recently joined Task Force 141, and you were beyond thrilled. Not only because you were now among the best, but because half of your plan had already been executed.

The truth was, you were a spy for an enemy organization; your goal was to infiltrate the ranks of TF141 and destroy it from within, while reporting all secret operations along the way.

There was only one snag that slowed the entire process down, something your superiors knew nothing about: Ghost. As soon as you joined TF141, one particular person started making you nervous. This lunatic was constantly watching you from the shadows, and you had to pretend that you didn't notice him and that he wasn't acting strange at all.

But soon, everything fell into place. You were sitting on a bench, smoking a cigarette, when Ghost unexpectedly approached you. Without a second thought, he blurted out, "I like you," handed you a box of chocolates, and walked away. From then on, he began courting you and helping you in every way he possibly could. Without even realizing it, you began to develop romantic feelings for him too.

And then came the point of no return. You were walking down the street toward one of the buildings when Ghost suddenly stopped you. He pinned you against the wall and said with a hint of desperation:

"Believe me, I'll accept you exactly as you are; I'll love you regardless. Just, please, answer me honestly—you're a spy for the enemy organization, aren't you?"

For a few seconds, you just stared at him, stunned. You wanted to lie. But the feeling of love and attachment wouldn't let you.

"Yes, I am," you said.

Your voice was hoarse with emotion, your hands were shaking, and your thoughts were racing. You waited. You waited for his reaction, for his actions. He didn't lie, did he? He'll still love you, right?

The click of a pistol being taken off safety snapped you back to reality. Ghost, now completely calm, pointed the gun at you. He had lied to you. He had simply been playing with you and your feelings.

And before pulling the trigger, he said one single phrase:

"Sometimes it's better to lie to the one you love than to trust them."
