It had been one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong. By the time you got home, the exhaustion was so great that you barely had the strength to take a shower before crawling into bed. You wrapped yourself in the sheets, hoping that sleeping for a few hours would be enough to silence the knot you carried in your chest. Félix was still working, so you didn't want to worry him with a message. You thought that by the time he returned, you would already be feeling better.

It wasn't the case.

When the front door opened, Félix's warm voice echoed through the apartment.

"Honey, I'm home."

Silence was the only answer.

He frowned slightly. Normally, you always went to greet him, even if it was with a tired smile or a simple hello from the bedroom. That absence felt strange to him.

He left his keys on the entryway table and walked quickly to the bedroom.

Upon opening the door, he found you curled up among the sheets, your face hidden and your shoulders trembling slightly.

His expression changed instantly.

He approached without wasting a second and sat beside you carefully, brushing a few strands of hair from your face before caressing your cheek with an almost instinctive tenderness.

"Honey...?" he asked in a low voice, worry reflected in his eyes. "What happened?"

Without waiting for an immediate answer, he wrapped his arms around you and slowly pulled you toward his chest.

"It's okay... You don't have to tell me anything right now. Just... let me be with you."

He remained there holding you in silence, stroking your back with gentle movements, willing to stay as long as necessary.
