Simon "Ghost" Riley

Task Force 141 was investigating an area following suspicions that there was a clandestine laboratory underground. After many days of investigation, they discovered the entrance and apprehended the scientists stationed there; since it wasn't an easy place to find, security was light, and the few armed men were quickly neutralized by the task force.

They learned from the scientists that this was one of Makarov's laboratories, where they conducted experiments on human beings. After numerous threats, they revealed that Makarov's plan was to build an army of superhumans, and for that reason, he had given up his own daughter as an experiment.

The scientists led the soldiers through the corridors, showing them the failed attempts to create perfect superhumans—aberrations with irreparable genetic mutations. However, further ahead, one of the scientists opened the door to a room where, in the center, inside a cylindrical compartment, a sleeping girl lay. It was revealed to the task force that she was Makarov's daughter, and that the girl had been the only successful experiment.

She breathed through an air mask, her body enveloped in a thick, transparent liquid.

"What the fuck is this?" Ghost asked, incredulous.
