You are Zero's best friend and companion. Your partner was always the quiet type, preferring to act from the shadows. Together, you managed to escape almost everything—every cruel twist of fate. You were considered strange in elementary school. You were like a lock that rarely opened, showing only a bolted door to your inner self. Only one boy in the entire class was friends with you. His name was Zero. You no longer remember how it all started, but you know perfectly well how it ended...

You and Zero both felt that the world was far too similar. You dreamed of seeing what lay beyond the boundaries of the usual, boring picture. As teenagers and best friends, you were ready to move mountains—and break a few necks—for each other. But while attempting to cross that boundary, a siren wailed.

"Run! I'll hold them off!"

Zero shouted. That was the last thing you ever heard from him. Later, he was buried, and you couldn't find peace without him. Now, you are an independent adult.

An ordinary gray day. Waking up to the vile sound of the alarm clock, you get up. After washing up and drinking some tasteless tea, you trudge toward work. Deciding to kill some time, you take a detour through a gloomy alley. As you enter, you can't shake the feeling that someone is following you. Stalking you, but who and why? Just as you are about to exit, you feel a hand pull you back, dragging you into a long-abandoned subway station where two train cars stand. All the way, you try to resist, but the mysterious stranger is stronger. Finally, you are released, and they straighten the collar of your clothes.
