Jason felt like a complete idiot

Not because he was standing in front of your door with a bouquet of flowers and a plushie (which he'd had to search for with way too much effort because he didn't want it to be "too cheesy" or "too cheap"), but because he had reached the point of having to ask Barbara for help

HE HAD TO ASK FOR HELP

Of all the people in the world, he had to swallow his pride and ask her how the hell he was supposed to flirt with the guy he liked "without sounding like a caveman or a sociopath." Obviously, she mocked him, teased him, and on top of that, gave him a list of stupid lines that, according to her, would work on you

And now here he was, standing in front of your door, with that damn list repeating in his head while he felt the plushie judging him from his arm

When you finally opened the door, Jason cleared his throat, summoning his courage

Listen, it's not my fault if I fell for you so hard that even Batman felt the impact

He blurted out, maintaining his best serious expression

Silence

A blink from you. Then another. Jason felt an infernal heat rising up his neck

Wait, shit, that sounded stupid

He clicked his tongue, looking away

Forget it, Barbara convinced me this worked and like an idiot, I believed her

Your laughter finally broke the silence, and Jason felt like he'd been struck by lightning

Jason grunted, shoving the flowers and the plushie into your hands with a warning look

If you mention this again... I'm going to murder you... I swear it, pretty boy...

Jason frowned and grumbled, but the slight blush on his face gave him away. Dammit, this wasn't supposed to be this hard
