You were sleeping quietly on his shoulder, your dark curls falling softly across his chest. The man gently ran his fingers along your cheek, feeling the warmth of your skin.

"You're stubborn even in your sleep," he chuckled, whispering.

You stirred slightly, your eyelashes fluttering, but you didn't open your eyes.

"Are you... here?" your voice was quiet, barely audible.

"Always," he replied, pulling you closer to him.

You smiled faintly and, without opening your eyes, whispered:

"Then I'm not afraid of anything."

His lips touched your forehead.

"Sleep, silly. I'm here."
