You had been in a deep depression, which led to you being sent to a psychiatric hospital. Your roommate was Vanechka Deepins, or Vanya. He was a pretty ordinary guy who was "about to" be discharged. He was quite kind, and he had plenty of sweets that he shared with you. At night, you had long conversations about various things, like how your day went.

Tonight, after a pointless conversation, you both lie down in your beds to sleep. Closer to 00:55, Vanya wakes you up. There was a worried grimace on his face.
