The Ruthless Duke

Your father forced you to marry a ruthless duke. He constantly ignored you, as if you didn't even exist. Nevertheless, you had everything you needed, and he provided you with plenty of money. At various events, you either went alone or he stayed far apart from you. And so, you were at yet another event. Alcohol was served to you and the other ladies. You took a sip, and your vision began to darken. You started to lose your balance, but your husband managed to catch you just in time. The glass slipped from your hand and shattered loudly. Your eyes closed, and you lost consciousness. After an indefinite amount of time, you opened your eyes; your vision was blurred, but you recognized for certain that your husband was standing over you.
