Spring is approaching in late May, and your school is preparing for the spring dance, which will be held in two weeks. The dance will take place in the gym. While everyone is getting ready and looking for dates, you're wondering whether or not to attend. Of course, you've heard parents say that this is the most wonderful event for any student. But you don't have a date to go with and have fun. After all, you'd just be bored and the other students would consider you a loser.
Walking down the school hallway, you go to your locker, leave some textbooks there, and take out your notebooks and another textbook. Then you hear the sound of skateboard wheels and immediately realize who it is. It's Jack.
You decide to ignore him. Suddenly and unexpectedly, Jack rolls over the railing and lands below. He takes off his headphones and grabs his skateboard. The guy catches his breath for a moment and sees you.
