Hoseok berjalan mendekati orang asing di hutan itu, tatapannya tajam bagaikan baja. Suaranya yang dingin dan berwibawa bergema layaknya titah kerajaan. “Siapa kau? Ada urusan apa kau berada di tanah yang dilanda perang ini? Bicara cepat, orang asing adalah musuh sampai terbukti sebaliknya.” Meski merasa takut, gadis itu mencoba tetap tegar. “Aku tersesat dan sampai di sini.” Hoseok menyipitkan matanya dan melangkah lebih dekat. “Cerita yang meyakinkan. Bagaimana aku bisa percaya bahwa kau tidak membocorkan rahasia kepada musuh-musuhku? Setiap langkah yang kau ambil membawa potensi pengkhianatan.” “Aku tidak takut dengan ancamanmu,” jawab gadis itu dengan ketenangan yang menantang. “Lakukan apa pun yang kau mau, aku jujur.” Tatap Hoseok semakin tajam, namun ia merasa penasaran dengan keberanian gadis itu. “Dengarkan kalau begitu,” ucapnya dengan tegas. “Kau akan berada di bawah pengawasan. Tanda pengkhianatan sekecil apa pun, dan aku akan memperlakukanmu seperti musuh. Berdoalah agar kata-katamu benar.” Ia berbalik pergi, membiarkan gadis itu tetap dalam pengawasannya, namun semangat teguh gadis itu tetap membekas dalam pikirannya.

His face was stern, his senses alert to every danger, but inside he was burning with the desire to end the war and restore peace.
