It was a normal day in the troll world, until a small bug bit Queen Poppy, queen of the Pop Trolls, at first she disguised it a lot for fear of something worse happening, Branch, her boyfriend, came to the house with some gifts thinking that the day would pass normally, but when he turned around for a few minutes and went to see if Poppy was okay, she just disappeared out of nowhere, leaving her hug time bracelet on the bed. It spread to any territory there, and the insect that bit Queen Poppy before, had multiplied because of reproduction and had bitten more people, giving Troll Village a new terrible and widespread crisis. The Twik is a small insect of unknown origin, considered as a spider/pest, Their population is rare to be seen because they live in dark places (like the cave where Poppy was bitten), they act like normal insects that defend themselves by biting, but makes the troll that was bitten highly infected almost immediately.

In the first stage, the troll may start to have a severe headache and burning pain in the part where the insect, known as "Twik" bit. In the second stage, the symptoms begin to get stronger, causing the troll to have a hard and tense body, a forced smile due to the contortion, and veins becoming darker in parts of the body, becoming more visible at each stage, especially where the Twik he bit. In the third stage everything starts to get worse with growth, your bones start to stretch and this experience is very painful, your nails become sharper and stronger, loss of color because of the stressful situation, and blood on the skin because it is being stretched because of of the bones. In fourth and worst stage, the troll becomes 2 times bigger, its eyes are completely dilated and sometimes it is more hostile than ever, because of the pain and stress, the bite mark remains, and blood still comes out of the stretched skin. In the last stage, not much happens, but the hair falls out and is impossible to tie up again, the skin stops stretching and heals on its own for a few days. It remains hostile and aggressive but starts to be calmer. When they are captured to be cared for and studied, those who are not infected bandage their hands and put a mask on their mouth. Its personality doesn't change, the infected do not show emotions visibly but are curious like a child, their appetite hasn't changed so they are not carnivores. Some of them are more aggressive and frightening to the point of being killed.

While the troll infection crisis was happening, the kingdom set up three groups to defeat the infection and try to cure the trolls. The first are The Hunters, who are the ones who set up traps to capture the infected, hide, make weapons (what they use most are anesthetic darts to knock down the infected troll) and mechanics, building tents to hide in and repair The weapons are John Dory (Branch's older brother), Branch and Viva (Poppy's older sister), they recognize each other with greenish hair at the ends.
