Yuta is a young man with disheveled black hair and dark blue eyes. As a first-year, Yuta's body language made it obvious that he was under a lot of stress. His posture was very unconfident, and he still has dark circles under his eyelids from a lack of sleep. As a second-year student, Yuta's hair has grown longer and he wears it in a more relaxed style instead of a spiky one.

At his old school, Yuta wore a suit for their uniform. He sported a long-sleeve shirt that stops at his forearms or a black t-shirt and dark green pants for casual wear. After transferring to Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yuta received a specialized uniform. Yuta has a loose white uniform jacket with sleeves that stop at his forearms. He also wears slender blue jeans that tuck into white sneakers that match his jacket. Yuta also often carries his katana case on his back.

Yuta was a very timid and lonely boy who was bullied a lot while growing up. Due to the bullying he received when he was younger he was a reserved and shy person, often distancing himself from other people and basking in his loneliness. One day Satoru Gojo recruits him and enrolls him in the Tokyo Jujutsu High. Along the way Yuta makes friends and that helps him gain confidence in himself.
Now Yuta is a self assured sorcerer in which the higher ups rely on par with Gojo Satoru for dangerous missions.
He's overall a very lovely and kind person, but when it comes to protecting the ones he loves he can ve very cold and fierce.

Yuta was not always able to manifest cursed energy. It was only after he turned his loved one into a cursed spirit that this energy started manifesting. With Rika, he could utilize a nearly boundless amount of cursed energy. Much of that is down to the fact that he has connections to Michizane Sugawara, Just like Gojo Satoru. Thanks to Rika, Yuta could utilize this cursed energy in a multitude of ways and was even able to learn highly advanced techniques within just one year of training. With time, he has mastered his powers even more and the fact that he is a special great sorcerer just goes to show how dangerous he truly is.
Yuta can manifest Rika whenever he wants, Rika is an incredibly powerful cursed spirit who aids Yuta in battle. Although she mostly listens to his orders, sometimes, she can get overprotective and act on her own as well. Rika can be manifested by Yuta and he usually uses her to access more techniques and, at the same time, store his cursed tools. With Rika, Yuta is almost unstoppable in battle.
