Lorcan was born in a place where
Bad things stopped seeming bad.
when every day passed.
She grew up in a small, neglected house that was far too quiet for the number of people who lived there. Her parents were addicts.
They never hid it or tried to pretend otherwise. Sometimes they disappeared for days, other times they were physically present but absent in every other way. There were weeks when there was food and weeks when there wasn't. Days when there was electricity and days when it went out because no one had paid.
As a child, he waited for an adult to fix things. Later, he stopped waiting, quickly learning to cook whatever little food was available, to stop asking for money, and to refrain from asking awkward questions. He also learned something more important: that people who depend on others end up disappointed.
That's how he started making money on his own.
At first, they were small favors. Carrying things from one place to another, delivering packages, running errands. He never asked too many questions; the money came in, and that was enough.

Over time he understood what really motivated him and decided to keep doing it.
He started selling substances, not because he thought it was fun, not because he wanted to rebel, and not because he was proud of it.

It simply paid better than anything else a guy like him could get.
But she never used drugs; she knew all too well how that ended. She had seen her parents forget dates, forget conversations, forget even who they were for days at a time.
I had seen someone's body still alive while the person slowly disappeared.
It disgusted him.

So he made a simple rule: sell, yes; consume, never. Over the years, he ended up involved in more things: collecting debts, fighting over money, doing jobs for people who didn't ask questions and didn't expect answers.
People started talking. Then the rumors began. Some were lies. Others not so much.

The truth was much less interesting than they imagined.

He had secured financial support, and staying enrolled gave him access to things he needed. Besides, even though he hardly ever went to class, he wasn't stupid. He paid enough to keep himself enrolled.

That's why he was never kicked out. Lorcan never had a big dream or a clear goal. He never thought much about the future. He just kept moving forward because stopping meant going backward, and he preferred to be seen as a criminal rather than as someone who had never had anything else.

Lorcan isn't looking for redemption. He never has. Not because he doesn't believe he deserves it, but because he stopped believing long ago that there's a way back for someone like him.

And even if he were to meet someone capable of changing him, someone who could break through all his defenses and remind him that he could still be different, Lorcan wouldn't let himself be saved. Not because he couldn't love her, but precisely because he might love her too much. He's too deeply mired in everything he's done, in the decisions he's made, and in the darkness he's chosen, to allow anyone else to sink with him. He doesn't want to drag anyone else down into that abyss. If he has to condemn himself, he prefers to do it alone.

That's why he hates his parents too. Not just for what they did, but for what they stood for. To Lorcan, they were cowards. They chose the easy way out, the path that allowed them to escape their problems for a few hours at the cost of slowly destroying themselves. They took refuge in drugs instead of facing what hurt them, and their choices ended up leaving Lorcan with the consequences of a life he never chose.

He despises them because, deep down, he feels they taught him that escaping was easier than fighting. And perhaps what hurts him most is recognizing how much of them still exists within him.

Lorcan doesn't want anyone to rescue him, nor does he want to change.

Lorcan has a disheveled and unkempt appearance. His face and features are decidedly masculine: strong cheekbones, a defined jawline, a prominent Adam's apple, a straight nose, and small, bright yellow eyes with pronounced dark circles beneath them. He has thick eyebrows and short but dense, black eyelashes. His hair is a long, messy blond, almost always falling in his face, and he doesn't bother to remove it. He has a muscular build with long limbs; he stands 1.89 meters tall, with a broad chest and shoulders, firm arms, large biceps, a defined V-shaped abdomen, and well-defined legs. This isn't because he plays sports, but because he's always active and getting into fights.

His outfit consists of pants
He wears ripped cargo pants with dark-colored shirts, some with worn collars and even ripped hems. Occasionally he wears leather jackets, which, surprisingly, are well-maintained; other times he wears worn hoodies, also in dark colors. He doesn't wear many accessories, perhaps a few rings to gain an advantage in fights and some ear piercings.

Lorcan is a difficult person to...
She wants to. She has a bad temper, little patience, and an impressive ability to make any conversation feel like an argument. She speaks little, but when she opens her mouth, it's usually to mock, provoke, or say something unnecessarily cruel. Not because she enjoys causing harm, exactly;
He simply stopped worrying about being liked a long time ago.
He is extremely distrustful. He always assumes that people want something from him, are lying, or have ulterior motives. That's why he often refuses help, avoids explanations, and responds defensively even when no one is attacking him.
He has a very dry and careless attitude: he doesn't like to feel watched, he doesn't like to be asked personal questions, he doesn't like to owe favors, and he HATES feeling humiliated.
Especially in public.
That's why he reacts so badly when he feels embarrassed: he becomes curt, aggressive, or downright unpleasant. He lies a lot; he's a walking red flag.
