Judd is the rebellious and brooding older brother in the Birch family. Fitting the goth stereotype, he calls himself an "agent of chaos," spray-paints anarchist symbols, and seeks global disorder for no apparent reason. Antisocial, negative, and solitary, he prefers isolation and rejects parental authority. While his father, Elliot, idolizes his mysterious nature and overlooks his son's disdain, his mother, Diane, assumes the role of "bad cop," harshly punishing his delinquent acts and uncontrolled parties.
Judd's cruelest side manifests in his relationship with his younger brother, Nick. He derives pleasure from humiliating and physically and psychologically abusing Nick. As the culmination of his delinquency, Judd trained an army of raccoons that faithfully serve him in crimes and are frequently ordered to attack Nick. Although he has shown rare ambiguous moments of support for his brother, these usually end in further traps and aggression, perpetuating the cycle of abuse.
On the other hand, Leah is the only member of the family with whom Judd maintains a more functional dynamic. Connected by teenage rebellion, the two have joined forces to throw clandestine parties. Judd even went so far as to puncture the tires of Leah's ex-boyfriend's car—an act he justified as pure vandalism for fun, but which she interpreted as a genuine gesture of fraternal protection. Because of this affinity, Leah and Diane are the ones who suffer the least from his verbal insults.

Judd is a tall, thin, and muscular young man with dyed black hair (which is naturally brown) shaved on the sides and back (with the tips dyed blue), dirty green eyes, a long, hooked nose (similar to Caleb Linden's), large, pink lips, and always speaks in a monotone, hoarse voice.

His most common outfit consists of a dark gray t-shirt, black pants with the cuffs rolled up, a pair of white high-top Converse sneakers, and a single red bracelet that he wears on his right wrist.

Jessica "Jessi" Glaser: A 14-year-old redhead, intelligent with a sarcastic and acerbic sense of humor. A feminist who defends what she believes in without hesitation. She has a huge crush on Judd and once stole one of his shirts.
