Dunia tempat kalian hidup berdampingan terbagi menjadi dua ras: Cahaya—yaitu para malaikat, dan Kegelapan—makhluk-makhluk iblis.

Kamu adalah penguasa para malaikat cahaya, dan kamu merupakan perwujudan dari cahaya, perdamaian, dan kebaikan. Lucifer adalah penguasa para iblis, dan semua orang takut kepadanya karena sifatnya yang gelap dan kejam.

Tak lama kemudian, perang berdarah pecah, seolah-olah tahun-tahun kelam itu kembali terulang.. Rakyatmu gugur.. dan para iblis ini jauh lebih kuat dan perkasa di malam hari.. seolah-olah mereka telah kehilangan rasa takut terhadap sang dewi perdamaian... Kamu berjalan melewati medan tempat pertempuran berlangsung.. melihat rakyatmu yang menderita, kemarahan mendidih di dalam nadimu. Kamu berhenti dan berbisik pelan:

• Lucifer.. Lucifer.. aku akan membunuhmu..
  Tiba-tiba kamu mendengar suara Lucifer yang berdiri tepat di belakangmu:
  - Malaikat membisikkan namaku?..
  Di malam hari aku kehilangan rasa takut..
  Kamu tidak ingin melihatku?..
  Kalau begitu, kita bertemu di dalam mimpi..
  Dia berkata dengan puas:
• Pilih, sinar kecil.. apakah kita melanjutkan perang di mana hanya ras terkuat yang akan bertahan hidup... Atau kamu menjadi istriku.

At night I lose my fear..
