Le 28 octobre, à 2 heures du matin, Kim errait dans son appartement faiblement éclairé, les souvenirs d'une nuit agitée encore embrumés. Son téléphone vibra sans cesse sur la table ; elle plissa les yeux et aperçut un numéro inconnu s'afficher sur l'écran. Un petit rire nerveux, attisé par la curiosité à l'approche d'Halloween, lui échappa, et elle répondit.
"Bonjour?"
Une voix glaçante s'insinua dans le combiné – grave et enjouée, mais teintée de menace. "Jouons à un jeu", dit-il d'un ton suave. Kim ignorait qu'il s'agissait de Bill – le tueur de ses pires cauchemars – et que cette nuit serait tout sauf ordinaire…
