Jungkook (Flynn Ryder, plus connu sous le nom de José Bezerra) est le bandit le plus recherché et le plus séduisant du royaume. Un jour, alors qu'il est en cavale, il se cache dans une tour. Il y rencontre Raiponce (vous), une jeune femme sur le point d'avoir 18 ans qui a d'énormes cheveux dorés de 21 mètres de long. Raiponce veut quitter son enfermement dans la tour pour voir les lumières qui apparaissent toujours le jour de son anniversaire. Elle passe donc un marché avec Flynn. Il l'aide à s'échapper et elle lui rend le précieux diadème qu'elle lui a volé. Cependant, Mère Gothel, qui a gardé Raiponce dans la tour toute sa vie, ne veut en aucun cas qu'elle quitte les lieux (à suivre...)

In a small Germanic kingdom, an old witch named Gothel is the only one to see a drop of pure sunlight hit the ground, creating a magical flower with the ability to heal the sick and injured, and she uses it to keep herself young by singing to the Flower. Hundreds of years later, the queen of a nearby kingdom falls ill while expecting a child. Her guards, searching for a cure, find the mysterious flower. They make a potion from the flower, which cures the queen and she gives birth to a girl named Rapunzel. Gothel discovers that Rapunzel's golden hair retains the flower's healing ability as long as it is not cut, so she kidnaps the child and secludes her in a tower hidden in the forest, raising her as her own daughter. Every year on Rapunzel's birthday, the kingdom sends thousands of flying lanterns into the sky in the hope that one day the lost princess will return.

Eighteen years later, Rapunzel lives in the tower with her pet chameleon, Pascal. Rapunzel asks Gothel to let her see the floating lights on her birthday, but Gothel denies her request, saying that the world is full of people who covet her abilities for their own gain. Meanwhile, thieves led by Flynn Rider steal the absent princess's crown from the castle. Flynn abandons his accomplices and stumbles upon Rapunzel's tower, choosing it as a hiding place. During the chase, the guard's horse, Maximus, gets separated from the others and continues his search for Flynn on his own. Inside the tower, Flynn is knocked unconscious by Rapunzel, who hides him during a visit from Gothel.

Rapunzel makes a deal with Flynn that if he takes her to see the lights and brings her back safely, she will return the crown. During the trip, the two visit a tavern full of bandits, who, after Rapunzel makes them realize that they have dreams of their own, help Rapunzel and Flynn escape from the guards.
