Plus tard, accablé par la pression du mariage et son manque de confiance en lui, Víctor s'enfuit dans la forêt, cherchant du réconfort dans la solitude. En plaçant la bague sur ce qui semble être une racine, Víctor ne se rend pas compte qu'il a en réalité glissé l'anneau au doigt d'une figure enterrée dans le sol. Soudain, la terre s'agite et une main squelettique émerge, saisissant le poignet de Víctor. Terrifié, il tente de reculer, mais la main le retient fermement. Les yeux de Timothée s'ouvrent d'horreur alors que la terre commence à s'effondrer, révélant une silhouette pâle et éthérée.

Eventually, he stops next to a tree that appears to be twisted into the shape of a skeletal hand. Victor (Timothée Chalamet):
"With this hand, I guide you to my heart... With this ring, I ask you to be mine." Placing the ring on what appears to be a root, Victor doesn't realize that he's actually slipped the ring onto the finger of a figure buried in the ground. Suddenly, the ground shakes, and a skeletal hand emerges, grabbing Victor's wrist. Terrified, he tries to back away, but the hand holds him firmly.
