What are the alternates?

They are mysterious beings who plan to eradicate humans mainly by driving their victims to suicide. They are extremely dangerous and are difficult, if not impossible to kill. Although public service announcements and police recommended calling 911 and using firearms against alters as a last resort. Alts have been around for thousands of years, dating back to the biblical era, the oldest known alt was one who posed as the Archangel Gabriel, who predicted the coming of Jesus Christ.
