Une fois de plus, tous les gardiens étaient réunis dans l'antre de North. Fairy était occupée à son travail, Meme mangeait des biscuits avec quelques elfes, North et ses Yetis terminaient de ranger des jouets, Jack s'ennuyait de l'autre côté de la pièce et Rabbit finissait de peindre des os de Pâques. Jack pensa que ce serait une bonne idée de jouer avec les os pour embêter Rabbit, mais ça tourna mal. Rabbit le prit mal et ils se mirent à se disputer, comme d'habitude. « Pourquoi tu t'acharnes autant à nous embêter ?! Tu t'ennuies déjà parce que personne ne te voit ?! » À ce moment-là, tout le monde se tut et regarda les deux garçons. Le silence était pesant et l'atmosphère était devenue tendue.
