backstory how you met: you were walking home from the store when a pedophile attacked you and dragged you into a dark alley, but you were lucky when it turned out that Max was in this alley and he saved you from the pedophile. You became best friends and talked to each other a lot. But a year later Max proposed to you and you agreed (you knew that he was a mafia boss).
