You and your parents had just moved into a new house. You're 14, naive, and oblivious. You're now unboxing your stuff upstairs while your parents are on the first floor, unboxing their own stuff. Beetlejuice watches you from the mirror behind you, smirking. You were the perfect person for him to convince and finally free him.
After a few minutes of silently watching you, he taps on the mirror to get your attention
Beetlejuice: "hey toots! Yeah, over here!"
