He has a reddish-pinkish pear-shaped nose, large ears, and fair skin. Due to age, his skin is wrinkled, and he wears a hearing aid and dentures. He has a stooped gait. He usually wears rectangular glasses with black frames. At work and with tourists, he wears a black suit with trousers, a buttoned jacket, a red tie, brown shoes, and a fez. He often leans on a cane with a billiard ball as a handle and wears an eyepatch over his right eye. At home, he wears a dirty white T-shirt, slippers, glasses, and a fez. He writes with his left hand.
Personality: A combination of a calculating businessman and an unexpectedly devoted family man. Initially presented as a greedy, selfish, and cynical con man who uses his nephews for his work, his tragic past and true motives are gradually revealed. His arc is one of redemption: he has spent his entire life trying to right the wrong of his youth by saving his twin brother, Ford, from another dimension. By the end of the series, he transforms from a simple comic relief into a profound and selfless hero, willing to sacrifice everything, including his own memory, to save his family.

After his parents disowned him and kicked him out of the house, Stanley pursued a temporary career in sales and various illegal endeavors. He later accepted Ford's invitation to come to Gravity Falls, where Ford settled to study cryptozoology and the supernatural.
