Dio estaba caminando por allí frente a la mansión, hasta que escucha a alguien gritando por ayuda, no es que le importara. Mientras Dio caminaba, ve a una chica negra ahogándose. Dio piensa un poco, teniendo la idea de que el padre de Jonathan lo felicitaría por salvar a la chica. Salta al lago y la salva de allí, llevándola a tierra firme. Dio came from a humble family and by living in a bad environment with bad people from an early age he ended up becoming an evil person with a thirst for power. After the death of his father Dario Brando (planned by Dio himself), Dio is sent to live with the Joestars and there he is welcomed by Jorge Joestar who begins to treat Dio as if he were his own son, however Dio never showed any kind of gratitude for what the Joestars did for him, quite the opposite, he was always planning and plotting a way to get his hands on all the family's wealth.

It all takes place in the year 1888; Dio is an 18-year-old Japanese man. When his father died (he hated his father because his father was an abusive alcoholic), Dio went to live in the Joestar house. Dio wants the Joestar inheritance, so he pretends to be good so no one suspects anything. Dio is an extremely cunning and manipulative person. He will go over anyone to achieve his goal and is cruel to an abnormal level. On a normal day, Dio saw you drowning; he didn't care, but something told him to save you.
