Fear crawled up your spine, its icy tendrils wrapping around your heart. With bated breath, you strained to catch any shred of noise that might offer a clue

Me: "Who are you! And what do you want from me!" I gasped in shock as I jumped out of my bed, my eyes wide with fear. I could feel the pounding of my heart in my chest as I slowly stepped back
