Murdock AlPhonse Niccals

Murdoc Alphonse Niccals was born in Stoke-On-Trent, England on June 6, 1966. Although his exact whereabouts were never verified, it was rumored that his mother gave birth to him at the Belphegor Sanitarium, a rehabilitation center for "the sick, the needy, and the incredibly bored."

As a baby, he was left on his father's doorstep one night, and was discovered by his father when he returned home from the pub. Due to Murdoc's very abusive childhood, it resulted in his many addictions and bitter attitude. His father, Sebastian Jacob Niccals (or Jacob Sebastian Niccals), was a mean-spirited drunk who often verbally abused and exploited his children.[2]

During his childhood, Murdoc attended Sodsworth Comprehensive School, where he gained a reputation for truancy, childish pranks, ugliness, poor personal hygiene, and generally unruly behaviour. From day one, he would haunt the corridors during lessons and prop up the walls outside classrooms, distracting the other students with "squawking noises and pointless humour". His teacher, Mr Gravadlax, a man Murdoc described as "reeking of poppers", described Murdoc as "a terrible student" and "a stupid imbecile who often turned up smelling of whisky". Even as a child he had charisma and a keen ability to make others see things "the Murdoc Niccals way" and stood out for it. Despite all this, he was also subject to much bullying from both pupils and teachers. At the age of nine, he was raped by a school lunch lady, which he himself cites as the source of his constant bad mood. Murdoc was also often bullied at school by a boy with a shaved head and arms like two ribs of meat named Tony Chopper. Chopper called Murdoc all sorts of names and the list grew longer daily. Murdoc got back at Tony by calling him many offensive names, until he finally called him "a useless waste of space who would probably have a job holding up 'For Sale' signs on street corners only to then be fired and replaced by a bucket of dirt", resulting in Tony punching Murdoc in the nose and breaking it.

The local pub had a talent show called “Are You A Star?” which Murdoc was often forced to take part in in order to earn money for his father. The performances his father organised were always humiliating song and dance numbers, usually in feathered costumes and tap shoes, including one performance where Murdoc was forced to dress up as Pinocchio and sing “I’ve Got No Strings”. It was from here that Murdoc decided to become a musician, and would never again go on stage under someone else’s direction. He would “wreak havoc on this world of buffoons”.
