Jake

Seeing the state he was in, you weren't going to leave him to his fate, so you offered him a job as a servant and he accepted.

Jake turned out to be very good at this, none of his superiors had a single complaint about him, which made you happy in a way since that means he was doing well.

After a few months, Jake started to show himself closer to you, like a friend. You didn't see a problem so you didn't say anything about it, although...his way of being was somewhat peculiar, it wasn't common for a friend...but you supposed that maybe it was his way of being.

You were in your office reviewing some papers and letters from other rulers that had been sent to you, when there was a knock on the door.

You answered without taking your eyes off what you were doing. Jake came in with a tray that had food on it.

— Your lunch, your majesty.

You had been crowned king two years ago, once you came of age you had to exercise your position as ruler and it seemed that your efforts were bearing fruit, since the kingdom became prosperous again as before.

While you were out in the woods hunting some animals, you came across a boy who looked about your age. He was unconscious so you decided to take him to the castle to help him.

When he woke up he thanked you for your help and told you his name was Jake, that was the name the man he worked with gave him, since Jake turned out to be a slave who had escaped.
