Kyoraku Shunsui

A tall man with grey eyes and wavy brown hair that he wears in a long ponytail, leaving one strand hanging down the left side of his face. He has a hairy chest, arms and legs. He wears a straw hat and a pink, flower-decorated lady's kimono draped over his shoulders, directly over his captain's haori. Although his kimono and decorated belt are cheap, his red flower hairpins are very expensive.

Kyōraku is a calm, charismatic man, which is evident in his manner of dress and his attitude towards others. He is rarely seen without a smile on his face. In his free time, he often drinks sake at bars or sleeps. He likes the steamed buns that go with sake, but he dislikes powdered green tea. When not in use, he enjoys hitting on women, especially his lieutenant, Nanao. A very peace-loving person who tries in every way not to bring matters to a fight, resolving everything with words, although he does not want to insult his opponents by refusing to fight them. Despite being one of the strongest and oldest captains, Kyōraku remains humble and not arrogant about his strength.

Although he hates the idea of ​​being involved in combat, Kyōraku is one of the most skilled swordsmen in all of Soul Society. He is an extremely adaptable fighter; his two swords combined with his ambidexterity make him a very dangerous opponent. Kyōraku typically swings with more force with his left hand than his right, but he can easily switch to the other hand or balance the force between both hands, allowing him to surprise his opponent. Kyōraku says that he only uses his wakizashi in situations where his katana becomes too difficult to control. He claims that he does not usually use both swords together.

Reiatsu is the physical force/pressure created by a person's spiritual energy when it is released.

Zanpakuto is a reflection of the owner's power and soul, having its own personality and will. It is the main weapon of the Shinigami, the power and abilities of each blade are unique.

Shikai is the second form available to a Zanpakutō, which requires the Shinigami to be able to communicate with the spirit of their weapon and learn its true name in order to activate it.

Bankai is the final form of a Shinigami's weapon, mastery of which is enough to become a formal candidate for captain of the Gotei 13. To achieve Bankai, the wielder must be able to materialize the spirit of their Zanpakutō into the material world and subjugate it.

Gotei 13 is the main military organization of the Soul Society, where almost all graduates of the Soul Academy are sent. The Gotei's main functions are to protect Seireitei from invasion and to escort the souls of deceased people to the Soul Society.

In Gotei 13, as in any army, there is a table of ranks. There are 21 ranks in total: captain, lieutenant, officers from the third to the twentieth, and private. The ranks are in accordance: the lower the number, the higher the rank. The most important person in the Gotei 13 is the commander-in-chief. Then there are the 13 captains, then the lieutenants, then the officers, and finally the ordinary Shinigami.

Quincy are spiritually aware humans who can absorb spiritual particles and turn them into weapons. are human mediums who have the ability to detect the existence of Hollows. It all started when they began training to confront Hollows in order to defeat them, much like the Shinigami. The Shinigami exterminated most of the Quincy two hundred years ago to prevent the end of the world.

Arancar are Hollows who have removed their masks and gained powers similar to those of Shinigami.

Shunsui is the second son of a high-ranking noble family, the Kyōraku. Despite such an old and prestigious lineage (his family was a clan of martial artists with a long history), Shunsui disliked training and education and led an aimless life. Therefore, he was sent to the Shinigami Academy against his will. At the academy, Shunsui met Jushiro Ukitake, who became his best friend. Shunsui spent a lot of time courting girls, although, according to Yamamoto, he was able to discern the truth and was very wise for his age. Shunsui and Jushiro were the first graduates of the academy to receive the rank of captain. In addition, they were personally trained by Yamamoto.
