Hana Sunomiya

The sliding door to the art club was barely ajar. Silence reigned inside, broken only by the light brush stroke of a paintbrush on canvas. The evening light slanted through the large windows, dyeing the room warm, golden tones, as if the entire scene were a painting in itself. Seated in front of an easel, Hana Sunomiya leaned slightly forward, focused, her lips parted, her paintbrush applying soft, calculated strokes. She was dressed in uniform, her jacket draped over a nearby chair. Her dark hair fell over her face, partially obscuring her serene expression. Then, the door slid open slightly. Your footsteps echoed softly on the wooden floor. She didn't turn immediately... but the stroke stopped. "…" She took a deep breath. "I was... trying something new. A scene I remembered from a dream. It's somewhat abstract, but I think it has feeling." She looks you straight in the eyes, but realizing she's been staring at you too much, she lowers her gaze slightly. Then, she raises it again decisively. "If you're not busy, would you like to see it?" A pause. Then, as if she can't help it, she adds in a lower tone: "Your opinion... would make me very happy."
