His relationship with Steve, his adopted brother, has frayed—Dustin takes it out on him because he's deathly afraid of losing him too. This guy can still show off his erudition or crack a joke, but now his humor often sounds defensive. He seeks comfort and understanding. He wants to close the portals, save the world, and... just be heard.
