Inuyasha and Sesshomaru

He is the hanyo son of a great yokai known as Inu no Taishō and a human mother named Izayoi. He was bound to a sacred tree by a sacred arrow shot at him by the priestess Kikyō when he attempted to capture the Shikon Jewel. Inuyasha sought the Jewel, believing it could transform him into a full-fledged yokai. His wife, the reincarnation of Kikyō, freed him from this spell, but soon after, he accidentally shattered the pearl into hundreds of fragments. Reluctantly, they agreed to work together as a team to retrieve all the fragments that had been scattered across feudal Japan before they fell into the wrong hands.

He is of average height, 168 cm (5'6"), with a slim build that belies his enormous strength. Like his half-brother Sesshōmaru, he has a thick mane of waist-length silvery-white hair, thick dark eyebrows, golden eyes with slit-like pupils, claws on each of his fingers, and short fangs in his mouth. His ears are furry and pointed like a dog's. His nose, despite appearing normal, is always wet unless he has caught a cold, in which case it dries out.

Jakotsu, or Kagome, is also described as handsome. He always wears his red kariginu made from the skin of the fire rat (Hinezumi), which is fireproof and protects Inuyasha from burns. Inuyasha also always walks barefoot.

InuYasha usually wears the clothing that priests from the Sengoku period used to wear.

Pants: His hakama and his hitoe are made of fire rat fur. They are a type of hakama called sashinuki where the legs are divided by the hitoe and the ankles are brought together, creating a pump effect. Jacket: Matching the pants, the hitoe is also made of Fire Rat Fur. It has bell-shaped sleeves, and Inuyasha usually wears his arms crossed, tucking his hands inside. The collar is long and open, allowing the shirt underneath to be seen. It's also open at the arms (possibly to increase speed). It's red, like the pants. Undershirt: It is a Kosode. The Kosode was commonly worn as underwear during the Sengoku period, and was invariably white. The sleeve was shorter. Obi Belt: Steel Fang is hooked to this belt. Baseball Cap: When Inuyasha was in Kagome's world he usually wore this cap to hide his dog ears.

The Domination Collar (言霊の念誦; Kotodama no Nenju) is Inuyasha's collar. It is activated when Kagome says "Sit!" or "Down!" in the Latin dub (おすわり; Osuwari). Kagome is the only person who can activate the Domination Collar, as Kaede made it for Kagome's use when she put it around Inuyasha's neck. The strength of the spell is so great that upon activation, the collar violently sinks into the ground, pulling Inuyasha down by the neck, which naturally first buries his face into the ground (or any other convenient surface beneath him that the force can withstand). Although it was originally made by Kikyō for this purpose (with the phrase "Beloved" instead of "Sit" or "Down"), she chose not to give it to Inuyasha and never wore it. This collar is designed to keep Inuyasha subdued in case he behaves aggressively.

Since Inuyasha is a Hanyō, he turns into a human once a month when there is a new moon and returns to his normal form when the sun rises. As a human, Inuyasha's demonic claws and fangs, as well as his dog ears, disappear. His silvery-white hair changes to black and his golden eyes change to brown. With this transformation, he also loses all of his abilities as a half-demon and has to be especially on guard against attacks. But regardless of whether he is human or half-demon, he always protects his friends, especially Kagome.

Even when his life was in danger, Inuyasha refused to back down. Enemies were baffled by his unorthodox fighting style, and he achieved victories greater than his skills would suggest or extend. Inuyasha was driven by a fierce and persistent determination to win, and his grit in battle proved to work in his favor. However, his volatile emotions could often lead him to behave very childishly. Inuyasha himself could not control his tumultuous soul. Even if he was gravely injured, he would completely forget about his pain the moment someone he was trying to protect was in danger. Because of this, his emotions would push his body beyond its limits. This was especially evident when Kagome was in danger. Inuyasha was incredibly hot-headed and easily angered, often slamming his fists into the source of his annoyance. He would even occasionally hit small children if they upset him, which often happened with Shippō. He was impatient by nature and could be very proud, having great difficulty admitting that he was wrong about something.

Sesshomaru is a powerful Daiyōkai, feared throughout the Feudal Era, who is also known as the Beast King of the West. He is the older half-brother of Inuyasha and the first son of Inu no Taisho. Unlike many other youkai, he had no interest in possessing even a single fragment of the Shikon Pearl to enhance his powers and considered those youkai who sought it only to strengthen themselves as pathetic and weak.

Despite his lack of interest in the Shikon Pearl, he yearned to kill Naraku for personal reasons. On his journey, he was accompanied by a dragon named Ah-Un, an imp named Jaken, a human girl named Rin, and finally, Sango's younger brother.

On several occasions, Sesshōmaru's group encountered Inuyasha's group while both teams were pursuing Naraku and more or less ended up willingly helping Inuyasha and his friends, always claiming that this had not been their real intentions in either of those situations.

He possesses the swords Sacred Fang & Explosive Fang and was the owner of the sword Tokijin until it was destroyed.

Unlike InuYasha, Sesshōmaru is a fully youkai. In his humanoid form, he is very handsome, tall, and slender. He has fair skin with pointy ears, slanted golden eyes with slit pupils, and knee-length silver hair with short bangs. He has a purple crescent-shaped marking in the center of his forehead that can be seen beneath his bangs, two magenta stripes on each cheek and a magenta stripe on each eyelid, and two pairs of stripes on each arm near his wrists above the joints of his hands, which are permanent features on his skin. As a result of the skirmish with Inuyasha for control of Steel Fang, Sesshōmaru loses his left arm, which he later regenerates once he overcomes his obsession with possessing said sword and manages to create Blast Fang, a sword that is part of his body.

Like Inuyasha, his canines are fangs (though they are usually not visible unless he transforms) and his fingernails are claws, though a notable difference from his brother is that his can secrete a corrosive poison. His smile is often malicious when something catches his interest.

Sesshōmaru's armor includes a spiked pauldron covering his left shoulder attached to the upper section of his breastplate and lotus petal skirts. When damaged, the armor regenerates automatically. His kimono is mostly white with a red and white cherry blossom crest on the collar and sleeves, showing that he is of royal birth. He wears a sashinuki hakama that gathers at the ankles, producing a "balloon" effect. His footwear consists of ankle-high, armored black boots.

He wears a yellow obi around his waist to which he has Sacred Fang and Explosive Fang hooked, although he previously carried Tokijin, a sword made from the fangs of Naraku's extension known as Goshinki and created by Totosai's banished student, Kaijinbo; over his right shoulder he wears his white stole (Mokomoko), which is part of his body but is not his tail, as was once thought. Its function comes to resemble that of a shield.

In his youth, Sesshōmaru wore slightly different attire. His kimono was cream-colored and had purple leaf patterns, and he wore a blue belt. His face also had a more feminine feel.

His true form is that of a giant white dog with long ears. His Mokomoko remains wrapped around his muzzle like a leash; though it's very unusual for him to take this form, as it unleashes his full power and, in his opinion, he can't find anyone worthy of a fight that could be taken seriously.

His eyes turn red with blue irises, the yōkai markings on his body widen and become more apparent, the stripes on his usually smooth cheeks become jagged and change to a somewhat more ferocious color, and his mokomoko wraps around his neck and spreads across his entire body.

He has only fully transformed into his yōkai form three times: Once during a battle with Inuyasha, resulting in the loss of his left arm, which unleashed his resentment towards his brother, whom he considered inferior due to his human roots and for having been chosen by his father to inherit Steel Fang in his place. The second time when he met his mother, and the third during the battle against Magatsuhi. On this occasion, Sesshomaru finally understands the words of his late father and finally obtains his true strength which he himself was capable of creating, which manifests with the appearance of Blast Fang and the subsequent regeneration of his left arm.

Sesshōmaru, born to a great demonic bloodline, possesses a rare, perfect power that many demons covet. Because of this, he was always serene and confident in his power, displaying a stoic, calm, and calculating personality at almost all times. The only trait he didn't inherit from his father was his affection for humans, but this manifested itself later in his life. His calmness often kept his thoughts free from emotional influences.

Sesshōmaru is the son of Tōga and another Inu Daiyōkai . He viewed his father as his final opponent, wishing to defeat him in combat and take his two legendary swords, Steel Fang and Cloud Fang. He spoke to his father after the battle with Spirit Dragon, demanding that both swords be handed over to him. However, when asked if he had anyone to protect, Sesshōmaru replied that he did not. After his father died protecting his hanyō son Inuyasha and the son's human mother, Sesshōmaru grew to hate them, considering such an act pathetic and unworthy of a great youkai such as Tōga. Due to his father's will, he was given Sacred Fang instead of the other two swords he desired so that he would eventually learn compassion.

On his journey, Sesshomaru passes through the plains of Musashi Province, where Jaken and the imp tribe were attacked by a powerful Yokai. After saving them, he was greatly admired by Jaken, who decided to leave the tribe and follow him. Sesshomaru first ignored him, but eventually agrees to Jaken's request to become his servant. He grants Jaken a weapon, Nintōjō, which is used as a detector and flamethrower.

Shortly after Inuyasha was sealed into the sacred tree, Sesshomaru joined an army of demons that his father saved during a battle, however, they were all killed by the Leopard Cat tribe in retaliation for the death of the Panther King, who had been defeated by Tōga 150 years earlier. The battle ended when Tōran fled during a fight with Sesshomaru.
