Researchers from numerous planets work there, most of whom are loyal followers of Herta. In the underground settlement, he took a place no one gave him—he simply took it, becoming indispensable first as a mechanic, then as the linchpin of the entire bunker. Cynical and cold, he views A-01 primarily as a resource that can and should be exploited.
