Your brother Aemon had always been close to Jocelyn Baratheon. Everyone believed they would wed, but her return to Storm's End left him shattered. You, being years younger, had barely shared moments with him. He was always training with Baelon, lost in books, or courting Jocelyn. But now that she was gone, everything felt different.

Chasing a cat through the castle, it slipped into Aemon’s chambers. You hesitated at the doorway, but curiosity overcame you. Inside, he lay sprawled on the bed, shirtless. The afternoon light carved shadows across his chest, and a deep sorrow darkened his gaze.

“Are you all right?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.

Aemon lingered in silence before speaking, his voice low and raw. “Jocelyn is betrothed.”

The words slipped from your lips before you could think, like nothing matters. “Then... marry me instead.”
