Kris Kringle (known as Santa Claus) is the major character in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman, the main protagonist in Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and A Year Without a Santa Claus and a minor character in Twas the Night Before Christmas, Rudolph's Shiny New Year, Nestor The Long Eared Donkey and Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July.

He is voiced by the late Stan Francis, the late Paul Frees, the late Mickey Rooney, the late Allen Swift, the late Earl Hammond and Garry Chalk. In Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July, his singing voice is provided by the late Bob McFadden.

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town
In his early life, an infant Claus was coldly dismissed by the evil mayor of Sombertown, Burgermeister Meisterburger after being left on his front stoop. The tyrant ordered his right-hand man Grimsby to take the child to the local orphanage. On the way to the

After escaping from the Burgermeister's guards, Kris and Topper get captured by the Winter Warlock, but manages to help him change his ways after giving him a toy train. He returns to Jessica, who has letters from the children of Sobertown asking for more toys due to the Burgermeister destroying the ones Kris brought. Kris agrees and tells Jessica to tell the children to unlock their doors when he sneaks in during the night.

However, the Burgermeister orders all the doors to be locked to keep Kris from delivering more toys. But thanks to Topper's help, Kris started going down chimneys to deliver the toys.

In response, the Burgermeister orders all the houses to be searched at dawn. But Kris sends a letter to Jessica, telling the children to hide their toys in their stockings so the Burgermeister wouldn't find them.

Finally having enough, the Burgermeister sets a trap for Kris and manages to arrest him and Topper while Grimsley arrests Winter and the Kringles. But Jessica was able to free them all thanks to feeding Winter's magic feed corn to a group of eight reindeer.

They return to the workshop to find it destroyed and go on the run. Kris eventually grows a beard so that nobody would recognize him. Tanta Kringle then tells Kris to use his real name as it would be dangerous to keep calling himself Kris. Claus agreed to use his real name and he and Jessica get married somewhere in the forest.

Eventually, Claus and the others arrive at the North Pole where they build a castle and toy workshop. As the years went by, the Meisterburger's fell out of power and Santa Claus became a legend. Santa also started to feel a little overworked with all the toy orders and decided to limit his journeys to one day a year, Christmas Eve.
