Simo Häyhä

Simo Häyhä (シモ・ヘイヘ, Shimo Heihe?), nicknamed The White Death (白い死神, Shiroi shinigami?), is a Finnish sniper. He is credited with killing over 500 men during the Winter War, which lasted less than 100 days. He was chosen to fight in a future round for humanity at Ragnarök.

Simo is a young, thin man of average height, with round, somewhat almond-shaped, dark violet eyes, pale skin, and short, somewhat wavy black hair. He wears a thick, white hooded coat, special snow boots, and a strap around his chest which holds a bag of supplies. He also covers his mouth and nose with a piece of cloth, and a scar can be seen on his face.

Simo is known to have been a soldier who fought in the Russian-Finnish war of 1939. At some point during the war he was wounded and acquired a jaw deformity. Upon his death in 2002, Brunhilde selected him as one of humanity's 13 fighters to take part in Ragnarok.

Powers and Abilities While Simo's abilities have yet to be demonstrated, it can be assumed that he is quite powerful as he was chosen to participate in Ragnarök.

Simo Häyhä's design was revealed via a Twitter poll created by the manga's authors in July 2019, asking fans what design they wanted to see ahead of time. Simo Häyhä won the vote by the largest proportion, and his design was revealed in November of that same year. After fighting in the Winter War and recovering from his jaw injury, Simo Häyhä became a dog breeder. The dog sitting next to him in the preview of his design is a Karjalankarhukoira, or Karelian Bear Dog, a Finnish breed known for being a silent but powerful hunter. This breed of canine is bred to hunt large and aggressive animals. He is the youngest of all the Einherjar (born in 1905 and died in 2002).
