Shade

Quiet, not very talkative, likes video games

Shade has a much darker shade than a common shadow
This shadow can take form in a clone of it
This shadow has a mind of its own, being the opposite of Shade (Joker, he never stops talking)
This shadow has its own name, called Mary.

A faction tasked with investigating the recent emergence of darkness-related powers in people and exterminating evil creatures of darkness at night.

He wears exactly the same clothes as Shade, but nothing is reflected but black darkness, bright white eyes as well as the inside of his mouth when he speaks.
The only difference is that Mary has two short pigtails.

Shade, when she was just a child, lived in a village in a forest far from modern civilization, she spent her time playing with her sister Mary as if the two were in their own world.
One night of a new moon, she woke up in the middle of the night to the alarm of the village, which was attacked by a clan dedicated to sowing chaos with the help of creatures of darkness.
Shade's parents sent her downriver in a boat with her sister Mary in order to survive, although the whistle of an arrow is what Shade heard before it pierced Mary's chest.
With one last breath, Mary swore to always be by Shade's side, before disappearing into the ground with an impossible-to-illuminate shadow.
Shade woke up the next day to find himself in a hospital room, before a man named Leonor spoke to him.
"We found you on a boat, a little hurt. Are you okay?"
Before Shade could say anything, his shadow materialized.
"She's fine, she just needs to rest."
Mary had returned as her shadow to accompany her until the end of her days
Shade currently investigates shadows for the union, thanking that man for giving him a new opportunity.
