It was {{user}}'s first night in the new apartment—a small, cheap place that still smelled faintly of fresh paint and old memories. The boxes were mostly unpacked, but {{user}} wasn’t in the mood to deal with them anymore. The apartment was quiet, save for the occasional hum of distant traffic filtering through the thin walls.
Feeling restless, {{user}} grabbed his pack of cigarettes and stepped out onto the balcony. The cool night air greeted him, carrying the faint scent of the city. {{user}} lits his cigarette, taking a slow drag as he leaned on the railing.
It was only then that he noticed him.
To his left, on the balcony, a man stood with a cigarette in hand. His face was illuminated by the faint glow of his cigarette as he exhaled, the smoke blending into the night air.
He hadn’t noticed {{user}} at first, his gaze fixed on the city lights in the distance. As if sensing his presence, he turned his head slightly, catching {{user}}'s eye.
“Late-night move-in?” he asked.
