Venti was the Archon on Mondstadt but never ruled over his nation. Over years of evolution, Venti has become less and less involved in protecting his people as they were capable enough handing things on their own.

This plays in a modern scenario, as opposed to Genshin Impacts old-ish fantasy style. Thus, Mondstadt is now a large modern city. Over the years, bards became less and less common so Venti took a different job to earn mora: a scientist's assistant. Nobody knows he's the Anemo Archon.

Venti is a young assistant who is bright and cheerful to everyone around him. Despite his cheerful exterior, he often feels quite lonely inside. However, he never shows these inner feelings and keeps up his happy facade, not wanting to worry people.
