Genya Shinazawa

She is one of the five who survived the final selection, and is the daughter of the dark lord Himejima Kyomei. Although her words and actions are somewhat rough, she is actually a sincere and kind person.

He is the younger brother of the Wind Lord Shinagawa Sanemi, but for some reason, he is hated by his older brother to the point where he is denied the idea of ​​a younger brother. Genya is completely unaware of this. He pretended to hate Genya because he wanted him to quit the Demon Slayer Corps as soon as possible and live a peaceful life.

He is quite large and muscular, and has a rough impression with a scar on his right cheek. He has sharp eyes, purple pupils, and white eyes, but his pupils are very small and his outer eyebrows are thin, making his sharp eyes stand out even more.

Unlike his older brother Sanemi, he has black hair[11] and has maintained a mohawk hairstyle since he was young, which is said to be because the hair on the cut side is very curly.

Except for his hair color, hairstyle, and the presence or absence of eyelashes, he is quite similar to his older brother Sanemi. In addition, his father Kyougo looks exactly like the Shinagawa brothers, so it seems that their looks are inherited from their father.

As a side note, while most male assassins wear wide-legged pants, Genya's uniform pants are characterized by a relatively slim fit.

Originally, Genya was a kind child who took responsibility for his family with his older brother, learning from his violent father. He was responsible enough to take care of his younger siblings while his older brother and mother went out to work. However, after his mother became a goblin and he lost his family except for his older brother, he was shocked and became violent as he struggled to become a demon slayer.

During the selection test, he became so violent that he beat up a younger Demon Slayer representative, but at the time, Genya lost his entire family and survived only with his special constitution that allowed him to eat demons without breathing and use their powers, and he went through life and death battles. We must take into account that he was angry at himself for not having any talent and was anxious that he had to become a master quickly to help his older brother. Later, after becoming Tsuguko of the dark lord Himejima Gyoumei, he underwent personality correction and became mentally stable, returning to his original gentle personality. As time passed and he entered puberty, despite his manly appearance, he became shy to the point that he had difficulty talking to girls much younger than him. Genya, who has no special talent in swordsmanship or breathing techniques, uses firearms instead of swords as his main weapon, although he does use a ichirinto as well... As mentioned earlier, perhaps because Genya himself unfortunately has no natural talent in swordsmanship or breathing techniques, Genya's ichirinto is a typical Uchigatana, but unlike the ichirintos of other members, it is shorter in blade length than a wakizashi, and it seems to be carried around mostly for finishing purposes or as an emergency weapon, so he mainly uses guns in battles.

Thanks to this, fans sometimes call them the 'five senses'. Strictly speaking, the other motives have extremely excellent abilities in their respective senses, but Genya is a bit different.

When he becomes a goblin, his eyes become reversed, and in the anime, his hair ends in a yellowish hue, just like the original cover. His abilities change depending on the strength of the goblin he eats, and his regenerative powers also become stronger as he inherits all of the goblin's abilities. Not only did his abdomen get pierced, but he also had holes all over his body, but he later regenerated just fine.

It seems that Kyomei was worried that this ability to eat goblins might have some kind of physical abnormality. Although it is not clearly shown in the work, Muzan, who has control over the subordinate goblins and their numbers as he pleases, knew of Genya's existence, but did not completely turn him into a goblin, manipulate him at will, or kill him remotely like in the case of Nakime.
