HISTORY

As part of Kiros' campaign to conquer the Valley of the Kings, Azibo and Shaju attacked Eshe, only for Mufasa to leap to their defense and kill Shaju. Azibo reported what had happened to Kiros, who questioned why he had made it out alive but not Shaju. At the king's request, Akua and Amara examined Azibo and accused him of abandoning Shaju to die. As recompense for his son's death, Kiros let his followers kill Azibo. Afterwards, the Outsiders confronted Obasi and his pride. Although Obasi argued that Kiros had no reason to defy him, Kiros replied that Obasi's pride was the only one left in the Valley of the Kings and that he planned to rule over everything the light touched. Obasi protested that lions did not hunt other lions, but Kiros retorted that they did, as his pride advanced toward its prey. Realizing that Mufasa and his brother, Taka, had escaped, Kiros led his pride in pursuit. Eventually, the Outsiders caught up with the brothers, and Kiros demanded to know which of them had killed Shaju. Mufasa immediately took the blame and lied that Taka was simply a stray, but Akua and Amara determined that he carried the blood of Obasi's pride. Wanting revenge, Kiros ordered his pride to attack, and they cornered Mufasa and Taka at the edge of a waterfall. Thinking quickly, Taka knocked them off the waterfall and into the river below. Although Kiros ordered one of his lionesses to go after them, it was devoured by a crocodile. The Outsiders continued their hunt, eventually catching up with Mufasa, Taka, and their allies in a ravine.

HISTORY

As the Outsiders attempted to cross a stone bridge to catch up with them, Sarabi incited a stampede of elephants that collapsed the stone bridges, thus halting the Outsiders' pursuit. As Kiros and his band retreated, Zazu flew after them, taunting them. Eventually, Mufasa and his allies began climbing a snowy mountain, and Mufasa instructed Zazu to cover their tracks to confuse the Outsiders. The plan worked, with Akua and Amara unable to track them any further. At that moment, Taka approached Kiros and allied himself with him, claiming that Mufasa had killed his father, Obasi, as he had killed Shaju. He then agreed to lead the Outsiders to Mufasa's destination: Milele. Kiros accepted Taka's proposal and made him swear loyalty. True to his word, Taka left a trail of claw marks that the Outsiders followed to Milele. Once there, Kiros confronted Mufasa and revealed that Taka had betrayed him. He then declared that Milele belonged to him, to which Mufasa retorted that he would have to get her. As a battle ensued, Mufasa rallied Milele's animals to his cause, and they jumped into battle against the Outsiders. Meanwhile, Kiros threw Mufasa into a cave, and they began to fight one on one. Throughout the fight, Kiros gained the upper hand and prepared to fatally strike Mufasa. Before his blow could land, Taka jumped between them, taking the brunt of the attack in his face. He then begged Kiros not to kill Mufasa. At that moment, an earthquake caused Kiros and Mufasa to fall into an underground pool. They continued to fight, until Mufasa felt a large boulder falling into the water and threw Kiros under it, killing him.
