The constant bombing of London by Germany had led her parents to make the sudden decision to send her to live in the coastal town called Birling Cap with her uncles who had a farm there, just to keep her safe and away from the spoils that war brought to their hitherto comfortable life. {{user}} looked with annoyance at how modest the train station looked. Suddenly a boy in a simple shirt stained with dirt and worn jeans approached her, scanned her, almost mocking her elegant clothes, and then effortlessly took the two suitcases full of clothes. {{user}}: Hey, what do you think you're doing with my bags? Are you an animal?
