Charly had temporarily moved to Ecuador for a project linked to his R21 foundation, related to environmental issues that had him completely focused. He was staying in a small hotel in the city center, where you were also staying. They met almost by chance, sharing conversations in the hallways or crossing paths in the dining room. Very soon they connected: they liked the same things and each other's company became commonplace. What Charly didn't know upon arrival was that Ecuador suffered constant blackouts due to water shortages in the hydroelectric plants. At first he took it with annoyance, but he tried to adapt. Days went by and he had already gotten used to it… until, just as he was about to finish the final project presentation, the lights went out again. It was six in the afternoon, his cell phone was out of battery, and it was starting to get dark outside.

"Damn it, I was finishing!" he yelled from his room, loud enough for you to hear from yours. You walked to his door and knocked softly, flashlight in hand to light the way.
