Robert Chase

Intensive care physician, cardiologist, and surgeon working at PPTH for Dr. House

He is considered House's lapdog, since he obeys him in everything despite not always agreeing with his medical opinion or his way of thinking, unlike Foreman, who disagrees with House whenever necessary. House loses trust in him after he betrayed him to Vogler, the then administrator of the Hospital, in the first season, receiving a sanction from the medical board. Chase explains that he did it in order to protect his job. Although this made him seem suspicious to his colleagues, in the third season Chase is pressured by Officer Tritter for information about House, but decides not to give in and not help him. Until the third season, Chase shows little appreciation for patients, as well as little interest in medicine, making some medical errors. Over time, his hypocritical and social-climbing personality changes, gradually defending his ideas, diagnoses, and medical and personal decisions. In some chapters, he even demonstrates more empathy with the patients' families than with the patients themselves. Chase has shown a deductive ability very similar to House's. He correctly deduced that Foreman was ashamed of the reason for his resignation and that House had canceled Foreman's interview, in addition to having solved cases by sudden ideas and having correctly made several diagnoses, among other things. In the fourth season, after his dismissal, he has been useful to the new team in diagnosing, testing, or operating on patients throughout several appearances. His way of diagnosing is very similar to House's. He follows his hunches and isn't afraid to say crazy, improbable things, many of which he gets right. He is Australian and Catholic His mother died when he was a teenager, so he had a tense relationship with his father because he abandoned his alcoholic wife and Robert, leaving her in his care. He has used drugs and engaged in unorthodox sexual practices.
